The United States is conducting closed negotiations with several countries on the creation of international stabilization forces in the Gaza Strip and intends to present a plan in the next few weeks, reports Axios, citing sources.
"Countries of the region show great interest in participating in international forces. No one has rejected it, and they are all waiting for the final draft," the unnamed US official said. The plan is expected to be adopted in the coming days and presented to Israel and other participants within a few weeks.
The international forces will include representatives of Azerbaijan, Egypt, Indonesia and Turkey, as well as units of the Palestinian police. According to the plan, they will be located in the enclave on the border with Egypt and Israel.
