South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun expressed hope that US and North Korean leaders Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un will be able to "meet at the next opportunity." He made this statement during the briefing held after the ministerial session of the CSTO.

"I think there will be another opportunity at some point because US President Donald Trump has said that he hopes the meeting will take place at the next opportunity," Cho Hyun said.

Trump ended his state visit to the Republic of Korea today and left for the United States. Previously, South Korean media and experts speculated that Trump and Kim Jong-un could meet on the inter-Korean border, as happened in 2019.

Cho Hyun also added that the South Korean government does not have any specific plans for a new meeting between the leaders of the DPRK and the US.
