"Inter Miami" striker Lionel Messi said that he wants to participate in the 2026 World Cup, reports NBC Sports.
"It will be incredible to participate in the World Cup. I want to be in good shape and benefit my teammates, if of course I get an invitation. There is no clarity yet.
When I start the preparation process for the new season next year, I will know if I can give 100 percent. I will make a decision then," said the 38-year-old football player, who a few days ago extended his contract with "Inter Miami" until 2028.
The World Championship will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
