"Zhoghovurd" daily newspaper received information according to which certain proceedings are underway in the Corruption Prevention Commission regarding RA human rights defender Anahit Manasyan. We requested the Corruption Prevention Commission to provide the following information. 1. Did your commission really initiate proceedings regarding Anahit Manasyan?
2. If so, on what basis and on the basis of whose application or report was it initiated? 3. What is the issue of the proceedings and at what stage is it currently?
4. When is the end of the proceedings or adoption of the conclusion planned? "Zhoghovurd" daily newspaper received the following answer from Mariam Galstyan, acting head of the Corruption Prevention Commission.
"On the basis of the citizen's application, the commission initiated proceedings against the human rights defender on the basis of an apparent violation of the rules of conduct by the decision of September 30, 2025, which is in progress. At the same time, taking into account that the proceedings include confidential and sensitive data related to the personal life of private individuals, based on the need to preserve the privacy of a person's personal and family life and guided by Article 8, Part 1, Clause 2 of the "Freedom of Information" Law, the Commission cannot provide any other details regarding the circumstances of the proceedings and the identity of the applicant at the current stage of the proceedings," said in response to the inquiry of the "Zhoghovurd" daily.
The commission also urged the daily newspaper to refrain from publishing about this proceeding until its completion, and according to the law, the maximum deadline for the proceedings is December 29, 2025. "Zhoghovurd" daily has all the details of the proceedings, but we will refrain from any publication, waiting for the CC commission to "punish" the ombudsman.
