"Two months ago, no one would have believed that we would be able to reach an agreement," he said. According to the official, although the main component of the new sanctions package is economic restrictions, Brussels considers the possibility of restricting travel within the EU for Russian diplomats "particularly useful".
Earlier, EU ambassadors finally approved the 19th package of sanctions against Russia. It will enter into force on October 23.
