The payment for Ukraine's purchase of 100-150 JAS 39 Gripen E fighter jets can be made through frozen Russian assets, Defense Minister Paul Johnson said on SVT TV channel.
"We are discussing the possibility of using frozen Russian assets," he said.
One fighter of this model costs approximately 800 million kroner ($85 million). The order for 100 planes will cost 80 billion kroner ($8.5 billion).
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristerson signed a letter of intent on defense issues with Vladimir Zelensky on Wednesday. According to the Swedish Prime Minister, Stockholm plans to sell 100-150 JAS 39 Gripen E fighters to Kiev.
