The creators of ChatGPT are releasing their own browser powered by artificial intelligence

OpenAI has officially unveiled Atlas, a new browser with built-in ChatGPT artificial intelligence. The app is currently only available for macOS users, but Windows, iOS, and Android versions are coming soon, according to VC.

Atlas is similar to traditional browsers, but its main feature is its deep integration with ChatGPT. Users can open a side panel in any window through the chatbot and ask for a brief summary of the page, compare products or analyze data.

The main innovation is agent mode, which allows ChatGPT to interact with websites directly, but under user control. During the OpenAI demo, the assistant made a grocery order on Instacart by itself, based on a recipe opened in the browser.

In addition to working with websites, ChatGPT in Atlas can edit text, emails, and documents, helping you customize style and content. The system also supports search history analysis. the assistant can answer questions about previously viewed pages without the need to open links.

In the browser settings, users can manage data collection, allow or deny the use of content for training OpenAI models, delete browsing history, and archive chats.

Atlas is free. However, agent mode will only be available to ChatGPT Plus, Pro and Business subscribers at launch.
