Traffic on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border has been restored

Vehicle traffic on the Belarus-Lithuania border has been restored after Vilnius temporarily closed the border checkpoints. This was reported by the press service of the State Border Committee of Belarus.

"On the night of October 21-22, without prior notice, the Lithuanian side temporarily suspended the processing of vehicles crossing the border in both directions at international road checkpoints, starting at 02:10."

(The time coincides with Moscow time) "Shalchininkai" (on the Belarusian side, "Benyakoni") and from 02:50 "Medininkai" ("Kamenni Log"). As of 09:00, traffic has been restored," the text says.

According to the agency, Lithuanian control services process vehicles for both entry and exit. "The queues at the above-mentioned checkpoints to leave the Republic of Belarus have slightly increased and now amount to only 40 passenger cars, 1510 trucks and 3 buses," the press service explained.
