On October 21, H.E. By the Pontifical Directorate of Karekin the Second Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, Fr. Priest Aram Asatryan.
The report of the leader of Aragatsotn Diocese and the conclusion of the Awarding and Disciplinary Affairs Committee of the Mother See of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church of Saint Etchmiadzin served as the basis for the directorate. Priest Aram Asatryan:
a/ Discredited the Armenian Church, the diocesan priest and fellow churchmen with public speeches and statements,
b/ Disregarding the admonitions and instructions of the Diocesan Leader, continued in the disorderly course,
c/ During the last month, he arbitrarily discounted the part commemorating the names of the Catholicos of All Armenians and the Archdiocese in liturgies, essentially putting himself out of the Church.
d/ My brother persisted in appearing at the meetings of the Commission, bypassing the latter's authority and powers, as well as breaking the covenant of obedience with his disrespectful behavior.
From now on, the venerable churchman will be ranked among the laymen under the name of Stepan Asatryan Basin.
