US Vice President Jay Day Vance has arrived in Israel on a visit, Ynet reports. Vance is visiting the Jewish state for the first time since his appointment as US vice president, the portal notes. On October 20, Israeli government spokesman Shosh Bedrosyan announced during a briefing that Vance's visit would last "several days".
According to him, the vice president plans to hold talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
On October 19, the Israeli army announced that Palestinian militants violated the ceasefire, reporting an incident in the area of Rafah, south of the enclave, where they opened fire on Israeli soldiers.
