Sputnik The leader of Azerbaijan was released and went to Russia

Igor Kartavikh, director of Sputnik Azerbaijan, was released and left for Russia. Maria Zakharova, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, informed about this to RIA Novosti.

To remind, on June 30, the Azerbaijani authorities arrested seven people in the Sputnik Azerbaijan agency (part of the "Russia Segodnya" media group), including the head of the agency Igor Kartavikh and the editor-in-chief Yevgeny Belousov.

The "Russia Segodnya" media group called the actions of the Azerbaijani forces groundless and the accusations fictitious. Editing is blocked. According to the press service of the Media Group, Igor Kartavikh's health condition is alarming, he needs medication, including insulin.

"Russia Segodnya" demanded that the law enforcement bodies of Azerbaijan be unconditionally guided by the legislation and immediately release those people who have only fulfilled their professional duty.
