Moldovan border police officers found baggage that may contain explosives at Chisinau International Airport, the source of the agency told RIA Novosti.
"An investigation is underway and luggage that may contain explosives has been found. The passengers of the airport were evacuated. Bomb disposal specialists and other specialists are on site. There is no panic," the source of the agency said.
Bomb disposal specialists are investigating the suspicious object, the airport area is cordoned off.
In recent months, Moldova has been repeatedly hit by fake bomb threats targeting public buildings and transport hubs, including Chisinau airport.
In all cases, the information has not been confirmed, but has led to a temporary evacuation and inspection of the area.
