The average monthly temperature in Armenia in September 2025 was 13.1°C, which was 0.8°C below the norm. The monthly amount of precipitation, 44.3 mm, was above the norm, making 140% of the norm. This was reported by the "Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center" of the SNOC.
The first ten days of September were distinguished by higher than normal temperatures. On September 1, the maximum air temperature in Ararat and Areni reached 37.6 °C.
On the second and third days of the month, temperatures below normal were observed in most regions of the republic. Average daily temperatures were lower than normal, especially in the north-eastern and south-eastern regions of Armenia, by 2-4 degrees on average.
The lowest temperature of September was observed on the 21st and 22nd of the month at the Aragats high mountain meteorological station (at an altitude of 3229 meters): -4.8 °C.
The main part of the amount of monthly precipitation was observed in the first and second ten days of September. From September 10 to 11, hail fell in some regions. The last ten days of the month were relatively dry.
According to the observation data since 1935, the warmest September was observed in 2017, when the average monthly air temperature was 16.4°C, and the coldest was in 1956, with an average monthly temperature of 10.4°C.
The wettest September was observed in 1951, when the amount of precipitation was 111.4 mm, and the driest in 2007, with the amount of precipitation 1.7 mm.
Climate change estimates show that the average September temperature in Armenia has increased by 1.5°C from 1935-2025. during the period, and precipitation decreased by about 13% or 4.2 mm.
