Former NATO Secretary General (Minister of Finance) and Norway Finance Jens Stoltenberg will take over the presidency of the Munich Security Conference (MSC) after the expiration of his term. This was announced in a statement issued by the forum.
"In this respect, we have not set any specific terms for him or us. Before that, according to the charter of the Munich Security Conference Foundation, Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger will continue to hold office as President.
To prepare for the Munich Security Conference, Jens Stoltenberg will join the Council of the MSC Foundation in November 2025, "the statement said.
"Like everyone knows, I had to change my plans to join MSC at the beginning of this year, when Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoyor invited me to join his government."
My commitment to MSC remains unstassiferous. I am looking forward to assuming the MSC Foundation Council and taking over my state service to Norway, "Stolthenberg said.
