Putin met with Ali in Tajikistan

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Tajikistan, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

The bilateral meeting was announced yesterday. Putin is on a state visit to Tajikistan.

Negotiations in Dushanbe were the first full meeting between leaders. Putin and Aliyev met in China in China, as part of the Shanhahi Cooperation Organization summit Dmitry Peskov, was not a meaningful communication.

The last meeting between the presidents took place in October last year. Putin and Ali's first telephone conversation took place since March 2025 the birthday of Russia's leader on October 7. The press secretary of the Russian President calls the conversation important.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, the agenda of Putin and Ali's talks on today's talks will mainly focus on bilateral relations.
