Discord has discovered details of data leakage in early October. According to official information, the attack on the System of the Third Party Support Service may have left photos of about 70,000 user identity documents, according to The Verge.
Earlier, the hacker group stole it was stolen from 1.5 TB, including more than 2.1 million photos, and tried to blackmail the company. Discord has denied these claims, calling them exaggerated and intended to extort money.
All the affected users have already been informed about the incident. Discord cooperates with law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies and independent cyber security experts. Infected systems were removed from operation, and cooperation with the affected contractor was terminated.
The company also stressed that Discord's infrastructure has not been broken. The attack only affected the third party service provider.
