According to the order of the head of the RA Food Inspection Authority, animal epidemic monitoring was carried out in October in Kotayk and Vayots Dzor marzes at the business entities engaged in the sale and supply of meat, as well as in areas of animal epidemic importance. This is reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
Monitoring was conducted at 59 economic operators (Kotayk: 45, Vayots Dzor: 14), violations were recorded in only 6 cases and more than 70 kg of meat of non-slaughterhouse origin was confiscated. Cases of obstruction have been registered.
Seized batches were destroyed by burning. To remind, with the amendment made at the end of last year in the Law "On State Control of Food Safety", it is established that in the event of detection of raw materials and products of animal origin obtained from non-slaughterhouse fur during the control carried out by the authorized body, the sale of the entire batch will be suspended and the batch will be seized and destroyed. decision.
The costs related to the destruction of raw materials and products of animal origin obtained as a result of non-slaughterhouse fur are made at the expense of the economic operator, and if the latter refuses to pay the costs, the costs incurred by the authorized body will be recovered from the economic operator in a court order.
