US Presidential Peacekeeping Mission Special Ambassador Steven Whitkoff and the US Leader's Groom, Jared Kushner, will not leave Egypt during the indirect talks between the Israeli and the Palestinian Hamas movement on the release of hostages and the cessation of hostilities in Gaza. This was reported by Axios portal, citing a high-ranking official home official.
Whitcoff and Kouchner, who have been his senior adviser during the first term of US President Donald Trump, arrived in Egypt early in the morning of October 8, the portal said.
Before that, they met with Trump and informed him about the October 6 talks. Axios sources have expressed cautious optimism about the opportunities to reach an agreement this week, but stressed that Wittoff and Kouchner are ready to stay in Egypt as much as necessary.
