Russian President Vladimir Putin spent his birthday at his birthplace in St. Petersburg. This was stated by his press secretary Dmitry Peskov, RIA Novosti reported.
According to him, in the first half of the day, the head of state visited the Petropavlov Cathedral, located in Petropavlova Castle. The Russian leader was accompanied by Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, Alexander Bortnikov, director of the Russian NSS, Valery Gerasimov, the Commander of the Armed Forces.
According to the Kremlin's representative, during the day Putin held a consultation, during which the head of the General Staff Gerasimov and the commanders of the troops reported the President of the President on the operative situation of the front.
Earlier, Peskov said that the President plans to hold a consultation with permanent members of the Security Council and had several telephone conversations with foreign partners.
