The "Fact" daily writes:
Gyumri Day was celebrated with great pomp yesterday. However, it is noteworthy that the day of Gyumri was ignored by Nikol Pashinyan's and the entire incomplete elite. They did not even spend out the people of Gyumri on the holiday. The reason is obvious. The authorities are not only offended by the people of Gyumri, but they continue to punish them and ignore them, as they refused to elections in the spring.
Gyumri mentioned the day of the city on the background of the deepening political configuration between the central and local authorities. It is only the fact that the person holding the position of the country's prime minister does not congratulate the residents of the second city of the republic is considered a clear political message. This silence was more than talked more than Pashinyan, in the context of the tough assessments made in the National Assembly a few days ago.
In response to the "concerns" of one of the deputies of his faction, both the behavior of Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan, the attempts to attribute the construction works in the city were the country's sovereignty, Nikol Pashinyan made unprecedented tough statements.
"We must throw out the political and public field against the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia ... with political methods and the methods that are applicable to the PM, calling Ghukasyan's election, and the authority, the statement, and the author.
Pashinyan's silence, the attacks against other opposition mayor, clearly show that he and his team are not going to tolerate the promotion of a unacceptable politician, which is to ensure that the political struggle around Gyumri will be heated in the near future. It should be noted that the "Our Way" Movement and the Tashir Charitable Foundation took over the organization of the "Gyumri Day" celebration after 110 days after the municipality wanted to refuse it due to financial difficulties.
As a result, the concert held at the initiative of Samvel Karapetyan's "In our Way" movement exceeded all expectations with the representation of the artists, both presented by the program and the concert. Gata Band, Ernest Hovhannisyan, Sirak Amrian, Sofi Mkheyan, Avrang Amon, etc. were given a festive mood to the visitors of the city in Vardanants Square. Let's add that the first regional office of "Our Form" movement opened in the city of Gyumri on the day of Gyumri.
This is a clear "message" that the movement does not intend to limit its activities in Yerevan and is going to move it to the regions, trying to shape the power of opposition poles outside the capital.
Selecting Gyumri, Samvel Karapetyan's movement has already been preparing to capitalize the complaints against the current government, turning them into a organized political resource. In short, the day of Gyumri became a holiday, but a symbol of the deep crisis between the central government and the local self-government body.
