Kobakhidze called on the Georgian opposition to abandon its October 4 program of revolution

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has called on opposition parties to refuse to overthrow the government on October 4 until it is too late and threatened criminal prosecution.

"I warn everyone that any violence will be answered with the strictest legal answer. We call on all political parties and other associations, as long as there is time to effectively refuse the gathering, which is to violent the government or change of constitutional order, "Kobakhidze said during a briefing.

The Prime Minister reminded that in 2024 the protesters were sentenced to 2 to 4.5 years in prison for violence during protests.

Moreover, if there is violence on the day of urban elections, "the punishment can be much more strict." Kobakhidze also stressed that if the organizers of the rally promise to the authorities a surprise, they will get a bigger surprise.
