Luxembourg is ready to continue supporting Armenia in establishing security in the South Caucasus. Wiesler

On May 22, RA NA Speaker Alen Simonyan received the delegation led by Claude Wiesler, Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The meeting started with a private conversation between the presidents of the parliaments, which was followed by an extended meeting. The interlocutors documented the high-level political dialogue between Armenia and Luxembourg, emphasizing the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in the dynamic development of relations between the two countries.
"We highly appreciate the resolution unanimously adopted by the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg on May 16 regarding support to Armenia, establishment of peace and stability in the region. We emphasize that the resolution condemns the forced displacement of more than 100,000 Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of Azerbaijan's unjustified military operation and calls for the immediate release of Armenian prisoners of war," the Speaker of the National Assembly noted, adding that now the calls of the entire international community are addressed to official Baku to implement all conditions for the safe and dignified return of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh to their centuries-old homeland.
Claude Wiesler noted that Luxembourg is ready to continue supporting Armenia in establishing peace and security in the South Caucasus. "We encourage both our and other EU member states' involvement in the settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan negotiations. We emphasize and demand the immediate return of prisoners of war to their homeland," said the head of the Luxembourg parliament. Opportunities for the development of Armenia-EU economic relations, the EU-Armenia visa liberalization process, the security situation in the South Caucasus and a wide range of issues related to Armenia-Luxembourg inter-parliamentary cooperation were discussed. Reference was made to the "Crossroads of Peace" project of the RA government and its importance in establishing security in the region. as well as in establishing and developing trade and economic relations. At the end of the meeting, the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Luxembourg Parliament made a note in the Book of Honorary Guests.
