New functions will be given to the Defense Industry Committee. The National Assembly adopted the bill


The National Assembly adopted the draft law on amendments and additions to the law "On the Military Industrial Complex".

88 MPs voted in favor of the bill, 5 abstained, and 0 were against. At the plenary session of the National Assembly on October 24, Gevorg Mantashyan, the first deputy minister of high-tech industry of RA, presented the bill.  With the changes, the Ministry of Military Industry proposes to endow the Military Industry Committee with 4 main new functions, which will contribute to the development of the military industry in Armenia.

After the adoption of the bill, a legislative legal framework is created for the Committee to develop 4 main regulations. The first of them is intended to regulate the formation, compilation, conducting, reporting and financing of research and experimental construction works. In the second direction, the regulations concern the production of test samples.

The third tier concerns the state testing process. In the fourth order, the state body will be given the opportunity, using the state tools, to acquire military raw materials, products, spare parts, components, materials, which will later be supplied to the companies engaged in the military industry of the private sector.
