The German government's Polish representative Knut Abraham has stated that Berlin can provide Warsaw security guarantees instead of paying compensation for the damage caused to World War II.
"The issue of compensation is legally regulated," Abraham said at the RND editorial unit before his visit to Germany of Polish President Carol Navrikki. At the same time, he said that the Nazi German crimes in World War II needed a "modern interpretation of German commitments" to Poland.
Abraham stressed that Germany and Poland are "next to each other."
