US President Donald Trump has called Europe for Washington's sanctions against Russia, The New York Times reports.
"At the beginning of this month, Trump told European leaders that he wanted them to reduce the purchases of Russian oil. That condition will almost certainly not happen, which is known about Mr. Trump and his advisers, "the newspaper reported.
According to NYT, most other European countries have significantly reduced the import of Russian oil, but some of them still depend on Russian natural gas.
Against this background, the US administration also called G7 countries to set customs duties for Russian oil states.
During the consultations with G7 representatives, US Secretary of State Scott Bassent repeated the call of President Donald Trump to join the Allies on the commercial restrictions on Russian oil buyers.
