A magnitude 4.9 earthquake shook the Turkish province of Balkessir, the Disaster Management Department (AFAD).
"The magnitude 4.9 earthquake occurred at 12:35, the epicenter was located near the city of Sindirg, Balkessir, a 7-kilometer depth," said the agency's seismologists.
RIA Novosti correspondent reports that the shocks were also felt in the west of Istanbul.
