The General Assembly of the United Nations received a resolution on cooperation with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 120 votes. As reported by "Armenpress", the SCO press service stated this on September 6.
It is noted that the draft document was developed in 2024-2025 the People's Republic of China in the SCO. The resolution co-authors of 37 countries, including all members of the SCO.
According to the resolution, the SCO has become a major regional organization to discuss security issues in the region. The constructive role of the SCO was emphasized in ensuring peace and sustainable development, promotion of regional cooperation, good-neighborly relations and mutual trust.
The efforts of the SCO have been recognized as to develop cooperation with other international and regional organizations, as well as the importance of strengthening dialogue, cooperation and coordination between the UN system and the SCO.
Since December 2, 2004, the SCO has observer status in the UN General Assembly.
