Vahagn Khachaturyan expressed his willingness to support the activities of the Peace Corps


The President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Christina Quinn and the Head of the Washington Office of the US Peace Corps Karol Spahn. Welcoming the guests, the President of the Republic highly appreciated the activities of the US Peace Corps in Armenia for nearly three decades: "I am sure that this visit will also be his will have positive results and contribute to the expansion of Peace Corps initiatives and programs in various fields. Of course, the activity carried out by the Corps in different regions of Armenia and in particular in the field of education, which is a priority field for the Armenian government, is also appreciable. I think you are well aware of the problems and challenges that we have in the field of education, and in this regard your support and jointly implemented programs are very important," the president noted. Expressing gratitude for the reception, the guests noted that they are happy to be in Armenia. for the opportunity to be represented and to support the development of the country. During the meeting, issues related to youth education, leadership courses, volunteering and other areas were discussed. Special emphasis was placed on the programs implemented by the Corps in different regions of Armenia and among the youth. Reference was made to the democratic reforms implemented in Armenia in recent years, and in this context, President Vahagn Khachaturyan also emphasized the support of the US government and authorities in the process of implementing the reforms. At the end of the meeting, the President of the Republic expressed his readiness to support Peace Corps activities whenever possible.
