Rwanda has accepted its first migrants deported from the United States, Politico reports, citing Rwandan government spokeswoman Yolande Makolo.
In early August, the publication reported that Rwanda has agreed to adopt up to 250 migrants deported from the United States.
"The first seven deported migrants arrived in the country on Saturday," the publication said.
It is noted that the Rwandan authorities have provided social services to those who have arrived, and the employees of the International Migration Organization were also connected with them.
According to the publication, three of the deported stated that they will return to their countries of origin, while four said they wanted to stay in Rwanda.
