Turkey's largest freshwater lake drains (photos)

The Beyishir Lake between Konya and Sparta in Turkey, which is the largest freshwater lake in that country, is in a deplorable state. Due to the wrong organization of climate change and agricultural irrigation, the lake's water left off 300 meters.

Hassan Kurt, President of the Beyshehir Water Culture Cooperative, said: "Basehir Lake has died. I offer my condolences to all Turkey. " He added that there is no more Bachehir lake for themselves.

The lake, which was a source of livelihood for more than 400 fishermen, and served as farming, now dries and gradually turns into a large cattle pasture.

Kurt noted that one of the main reasons for the problem is the dams built for agricultural purposes to the lake. He offered the water flowing from Akca to the 36-kilometer to the Lake Basehead to solve the problem.
