The fraudsters have begun to steal Telegram accounts more often

In the first half of 2025, the number of Telegram accounts increased by 51% compared to the same period of 2024. In six months, one of the groups of Russian-speaking strikers stole almost 1.5 million accounts, using an average of 8175 per day. The press service of F6 told Gazeta.ru about this.

For theft, fraudsters continue to use Fishing links in the form of voting, security warnings, Premium subscription suggestions or awards. F6 analysts indicate an increase in the use of situational causes such as Easter's congratulations or other modern events.

The average value of Russian accounts in the shadow market decreased to 128 rubles. Despite the fact that the number of Russian users has begun to decrease in April 202, some well-known trading platforms have banned the sale of Russian accounts, forcing new ways to sell sales or foreign accounts, the threat remains high.

In the spring of 2025, F6 registered a new combined scheme. The Telegram accounts stole the contact list, after which the contact list was sent to participate in the request to participate in the query.

"The ban on certain shadow resources for trade with Russian accounts and the departure of some fraudulent teams led to a small decline in sales, but this is not a reason to weaken. Cybercrime schemes are constantly developing, the attackers are developing restrictions, new schemes and scripts, "said Stanislav Goncharov, the head of the F6 Digital Risk Protection Department.
