The issue of electing a judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia was discussed in the National Assembly of Armenia. At the May 21 session of the National Assembly, RA NA Deputy Speaker Hakob Arshakyan stated that in accordance with Article 166, Part 1 of the Constitution, the RA General Assembly of Judges recommended Davit Khachaturyan's candidacy for the vacancy of a Constitutional Court judge. The candidate was presented by the President of the Court of Cassation, Lilit Tadevosyan. , according to whose information, on March 29 of this year, at the general assembly of RA judges, Davit Khachaturyan, judge of the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation, and Arsen Nikoghosyan, judge of the Criminal Court of Cassation, self-nominated themselves as candidates for the position of judge of the Constitutional Court. , by secret ballot, 131 judges voted for the candidacy of Davit Khachaturyan, 126 for the candidacy of Arsen Nikoghosyan. "As a result, the general assembly of judges elected Davit Mheri Khachaturyan as a candidate for the judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia. His candidacy was carried out according to the procedure provided for by the NA Regulations and the "Judicial Code" constitutional laws. was nominated to the RA National Assembly," Tadevosyan said.
