Armine Simonyan, a member of the Executive Body of the "Hayats Hamazkayin Miastunyun" party, and Nane Baghdasaryan, a member of the RA Youth Union, submitted a report about the illegal actions of the police to the RA General Prosecutor's Office and the RA Anti-Corruption Committee.
To remind: on October 18, around 11:15 p.m., people in civilian clothes, accompanied by the patrol service, stopped the car of the members of the "Hayots Hamazkayin Miasnutyun" party without any justification, after which Ararat Avetisyan, the vice president of the Armenian Union of Armenians, Hayk Stepanyan and Armine Simonyan, members of the General Assembly. , as well as other members of the youth union of the party were forcibly brought to the Shengavit department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Yerevan.
In total, 8 members of the party were arrested, 3 of them were young girls. The 8 members of the RAM party, who were unjustly arrested with the use of violent force, were released after being kept all night in the Shengavit department.
Any suspicion presented by the police was not substantiated. As a result of the medical examination, Armine Simonyan was diagnosed with a ligament injury in the left shoulder area, possibly with a tear, which occurred during the police officer's use of force to bring him to the department.
Nane Baghdasaryan received injuries on his wrist and shoulder. Other members of the AUM youth union were also affected by the actions of the police. In addition, no member of the AUM party was given the opportunity to contact a lawyer or a relative in the Police Department. We should add that no member of the Armenian Nationalist Party was given the opportunity to contact a lawyer or a relative in the Police Department.
