Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the importance of providing conditions for the Russian language and Orthodox Church in Ukraine.
"And humanitarian issues, this is the Russian language, this is the independence and development of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine. All this should be discussed together and should be the basis for long-lasting, stable, and in general without any restrictions, "the head of state told reporters.
Putin and Lukashenko held an informal meeting in Valaam on Friday. The leaders of Russia and Belarus are visiting Valaam together for several years. They visited the island in 2019, 2023 and 2024 in July.
