The Netherlands called on the Israeli Ambassador because of the situation in Gaza


The Netherlands' Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the Israeli Ambassador in connection with the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Striping and the blockade of the enclave, Acting Foreign Minister Kaspar Weldkamp said.

"Today I called the Israeli ambassador and clarified him how serious we are about the situation in the Gaza Strip," he said. Veldackamp stressed that even in the absence of a ceasefire Israel is full responsibility for providing humanitarian access to Gaza residents and, therefore, "must eliminate all restrictions on it."

The politician also said that the Netherlands intends to suspend the part of the EU and Israel's Association Agreement, which refers to trade relations.
