The German authorities have called on Israel to change its political course on the Middle East conflict, calling it "completely wrong." This was stated by the German Minister of Foreign Affairs Florian Han, speaking at the UN Conference on the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in New York. Khan noted that Germany will always protect Israel and its people.
According to him, Berlin does not discuss the recognition of Palestinian statehood unless negotiations on resolving the two countries.
"We, Germany, have stated that as a result of such negotiations we would prefer to recognize the Palestinian state. This remains our position, but we see that the current Israeli policy moves in the opposite direction, "he said.
