Why is the Head of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine going to Turkey?

On October 20-22, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga will go on an official visit to Turkey, where he will hold important high-level talks on Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation, RBK-Ukraine reports, referring to the press service of the Ukrainian MFA. During his visit to Ankara, Sibiga will meet with the Turkish Foreign Minister. With Hakan Fidan, Minister of National Defense Yashar Guler and Minister of Trade Omer Bolat.

According to the department, the main topics of the negotiations will be the expansion of cooperation in the political, economic, defense-industrial and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Issues of freedom and security of navigation in the Black Sea will also be discussed.

"Especial attention will be paid to the victory plan proposed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine's integration into NATO and the peace resolution, which is the key to establishing stable peace in the region," reports the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

In Istanbul, Andrei Sibiga will participate in the SAHA EXPO 2024 defense-industrial exhibition, where he will have meetings with Turkish defense companies. The minister will also meet with the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar communities in Turkey and will visit Istanbul University, where he will discuss ways to expand academic cooperation and support the study of the Ukrainian language in Turkey with the professors and students of the Ukrainian language department.
