In France, they talked about plans to train Ukrainian soldiers

France intends to continue organizing military exercises for Ukrainian soldiers on its territory. Defense Minister Sebastian Lecornu stated this during an interview with La Tribune Dimanche newspaper, writes TASS.

"I have such an intention (to continue the training of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - ed.), I am working on it," said the head of the military department.

He clarified that Kyiv needs to form about 10 new army brigades. At the same time, about 2.3 thousand Ukrainian soldiers are currently participating in military exercises taking place in the Grand Est region of France.

The minister also answered questions related to military aid to Kyiv. According to him, France is currently "in the process of creating strategic closeness" with Ukraine.

Lecornu expressed confidence that the continuous supply of weapons to the conflict zone will not harm the republic's budget. According to him, Paris is transferring to the Ukrainian fighters the equipment that the command of the French troops was preparing to replace with more modern ones.

Moreover, the country's authorities order new weapons from Ukraine, not from abroad, but from local enterprises. "We also use the proceeds from frozen Russian assets to buy military equipment for Ukraine. France received 300 million euros until the end of 2024," added the head of the military department.
