18,191 earthquakes were registered in Turkey in the first half of 2025

18,191 earthquakes were registered in Turkey from January 1 to June 30, 2025. This means about 100 a day, and 4 earthquakes per day. Ermenihaber.am writes about this.

According to Turkish Disaster Management Expert, a lecturer at the gas university, Bulent Ozen, there are about 1,000 active earthquakes in the country that have seismic activity.

Ozmen noted that the increase in the number of earthquakes is particularly conditioned by a magnitude 6.2 magnitude earthquake in Santorini and Amorghos Islands on January-February.

The most earthquakes were registered in Mugla, followed by Malatya, Kutah, Cavamanmanash and Istanbul.
