Polish authorities are temporarily border control over the borders of Germany and Lithuania. The statement came from the Prime Minister of the Republic Donald Tusk before the government session.
"We have decided to restore temporary border control over the Polish-German and Polish-Lithuanian borders," Tusk said, when his speech was broadcast with TVP Info. The corresponding regulation, which will prepare the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will enter into force on July 7, the Prime Minister added.
In addition, Tusk promised to "react" to the symmetrical, violating the Schengen agreement, again long-term border control over the borders with its neighbors.
The Prime Minister of Poland also threatened Moscow and Minsk with "very unpleasant steps" if the flow of migrants on the Belarusian-Polish border continues. In this context, Tusk noted the possibility of imposing sanctions on the airlines used by the EU to reach Russia and Belarus.
