A magnitude 6.1 earthquake shook the shores of the Philippines. There was no tsunami threat. The statement came from the European Mediterranean Seismological Center.

The epicenter was reported 138 km east of the city of General Santos (Mindanao Island) of about 679,000.

The quake was registered at a depth of 102 km. No casualties or destructions are reported.
