Within the framework of the rapid response visits, it turned out that a number of people were arrested on the grounds of dismissal of justice.
It turned out that there are also juveniles among those arrested. During the private talks with those who were deprived of liberty, the latter had a number of issues, some of which received a solution as a result of the discussion of the Ombudsman representatives. At the same time, those deprived of liberty have submitted their disagreement with the law, including their non-governmental activities in any way, to deprive them of their unfounded liberty of the implementation of justice.
The Defender again emphasizes that the regulations envisaged by the RA Criminal Procedure Code need to be stopped by the relevant legal positions of the Armenian Court of Human Rights, excluding the lack of the grounds in the absence of freedom.
It is worrying that there were also juveniles among those arrested. The Human Rights Defender attaches great importance to the recent measure of the freedom of each minor in the mentioned process, and any action with them, taking into account their age, vulnerability and development needs.
If you are extremely necessary, they must be separated from adults, guaranteeing their physical and psychological security immediately.
Minors should be immediately provided to contact their parents or legal representatives, to receive legal assistance.
If necessary, the staff of the Human Rights Defender will be publicly received after the competent clarifications received on the issues raised during the visits.
