Ukraine intends to fight against Russia, providing humanitarian assistance to the African countries and sending military instructors, Reuters reports.
"Ukraine is ready to continue the training of officers and representatives of the Mauritanian Armed Forces, technology and Ukrainian military achievements," said Maxim Subhe, who was told by the agency that Ukraine provided such assistance until 2022.
Several anonymous officials and diplomats from Ukraine and Western countries clarified that the Kiev authorities also intend to increase the supply of humanitarian aid and expand the embassies network in the continent.
At the same time, it is noted that Russia has about 40 diplomatic mission in Africa and plans to open several embassies. In addition, Moscow and African capitals have a history of long-term cooperation on trade, security and intelligence. Ukraine does not have comparable resources, Reuters said.
