A 50-year-old resident of Kotayk marz was arrested in the case of illegal drug trafficking

In the criminal proceedings being investigated in the Abovyan investigative department of Kotayk Marz Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, a case of large-scale drug trafficking by a 50-year-old resident of Kotayk Marz was revealed.


Information was received by the 50-year-old resident of Kotayk Marz about establishing a laboratory for growing and preparing narcotics at his place of residence and engaged in illegal trafficking at the Department of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. On the basis of the report received in this regard, criminal proceedings were initiated in the Abovyan investigative department of the Kotayk Marz Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, within the framework of which plastic and glass containers were found and taken during a search of the residence of a 50-year-old man in the Kotayk Marz. filled with narcotics, syringes filled with a substance similar to drug oil, as well as a total of 85 masses wrapped in blue and white tape.


In addition, packaging devices were found and seized: small plastic bags, blue and white adhesive tapes, plastic and glass drug containers, computers, gloves, a homemade tool consisting of a syringe, dropper and plastic containers, mobile phones, large amount of money, etc. :


In order to clarify the composition, origin and method of preparation of the found masses, as well as a number of other issues important for the proceedings, a complex forensic and forensic biological examination was appointed. According to the results of the examination, some of the presented objects are "Mephedrone" drug. The examination of the rest of the discovered masses continues.


A 50-year-old resident of Kotayk marz was charged under Article 393, Part 3, Clause 2 of the RA Criminal Code. A petition was filed with the court to impose preventive detention against him, which was granted.


The investigation is ongoing.


Necessary investigative and operational actions are being carried out in order to find out the source of the acquisition of particularly large quantities of narcotics, and to identify other persons involved in their illegal circulation.
