Iran has asked the UN Security Council to convene an emergency session on Israel's strikes, IRNA reports, citing the letter of Iran's permanent representation in the international organization.
"Iran has sent a letter to the UN Security Council, demanding to condemn Israel's attack, and has asked to convene an emergency session," he said.
On the night of June 13, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) began a large-scale operation called "Growth Lion", in which the Air Force strikes military targets and facilities on Iran's nuclear program. The Israeli authorities have said that the purpose of the action was to prevent the threat of the existence of the Jewish state, as according to the Israeli military and intelligence, Iran has a short time to create a nuclear weapon.
