Armenia and Russia remain strategic allies, the whole package of documents adopted in the last few decades continues to operate in bilateral relations. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin stated this in an interview with Euromedia24, speaking about the current state of Armenian-Russian relations.
The ambassador stated that the two countries are currently experiencing difficult times, and the changes in the region and the world require an active political dialogue to adapt bilateral relations to new realities.
According to Sergey Copirkin, the strategic interests of Armenia and Russia are common, and the relations between the two countries are the friendship between the Armenian and Russian peoples.
"As sovereign states, we are interested in having the most significant relationships. We are very united, and these relationships are very important to ensure our peaceful, safe and prosperous future, both in Armenia and Russia, "the ambassador said.
The Ambassador also stressed that Russia not only does not leave the South Caucasus, but also does not weaken its attention or relations with the situation in the region, as a fraternal country and the ally. The diplomat also added that Russia is ready to support the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and provide a platform for the signing of the Peace Agreement to both sides.
