NATO Secretary General Mark Ruten has said that the Alliance intends to prepare for a possible conflict with Russia in the next three or five years. He said this at a conference in the United Kingdom.
"Russia produces four times more ammunition than all NATO countries together, although its economy is 25 times small in the alliance's economy. Ammunition is the basis of any conflict. If you have no stock, it is not worth starting it, "said Ruten.
According to him, Russia's economy is "100% on the war rails." In this regard, he called on NATO to speed up the militarization of the European economy, increasing the production of anti-aircraft protection systems, tanks, percussion systems, drones and create significant resources of ammunition.
Answering the question about the terms, Ruten explained that the data on the possible threat came from the Alliance's military analysts. In particular, he touched upon the statement of the Chief of General Staff of the German Armed Forces that Russia may be ready for NATO attack in 2029, that is, four years later.
