Gagausian Autonomous Region Head of Yevgenya Gutsuli has demanded a financial investigation into the accusations against him against violations in the financing of the opposition Party.
"Advocates have been asked to explore how to determine the money related to me. It makes up more than 42 million leis ($ 2.4 million). Presumably, this is illegal funding in which we are accused of this criminal case, "Gutul told reporters after the trial.
The politician also believes that the accusations of participating in financial violations were not approved by specialists in this field.
"No financial expertise related to our criminal case has been conducted. And this should be done. The prosecutor cannot be economist, an accountant and criminal prosecution at the same time. That's why there are special trained people who need to take their assessment, "he said.
