7 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals from the European Senior and Youth Wushu Championships

Armenian representatives won 7 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals at the European Adult and Youth Wushu Championship held in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. This is reported by KGSMN.

Davit Vardanyan (65 kg), Arsen Bagryan (60 kg), Davit Isakhanyan (56 kg), Zhirayr Petrosyan (60 kg) won the gold medals of the 19th European Championship as part of the Armenian senior team, and they stood on the first step of the podium in the youth competition. Grigor Tonikyan (80 kg), Aghvan Magoyan (56 kg) and Gevorg Baghdasaryan (52 kg).

Among adults, Vahan Mkrtchyan (48 kg) was declared European vice-champion, while Hovhannes Smbatyan (+90 kg) and Gevorg Yeritsyan won bronze medals.

In the youth competition, Davit Baghdasaryan (65 kg) won the silver medal, and Yasha Mnatsakanyan (60 kg) became the bronze medalist.

The Armenian wushu team took 9th place with 12 medals in the team fight. The Armenian team went to Sweden with 14 athletes.

Aram Aydinyan and Spartak Tsarukyan, vice-president of the traditional wushu federation of Armenia, referees of the international class, also worked among the referees of the European Championship.
