“Since October 8, 2023, the UN International Organization for Migration, as of October 14 [2024], has recorded 746.6 thousand internally displaced persons [in Lebanon],” the report notes. “Among them, 188.2 thousand people are housed in 1,059 shelters, 876 (83%) of which have already reached maximum occupancy,” the document emphasizes.
According to an international organization, in the last three weeks alone, 400,000 children have fled their homes in Lebanon, creating additional difficulties for the national school system.
On September 23, Israel launched Operation Arrows of the North against Hezbollah forces, during which it carried out massive airstrikes against the organization’s military targets on Lebanese territory.
As a result of one of the bombings on September 27, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrullah was killed in Beirut.
The organization confirmed his death and promised to continue to confront Israel.
On the night of October 1, the Israeli army announced the start of a ground operation in the border areas of southern Lebanon.
